Alhamdulillah, Another MOU signed: Ihsan Trust Signs MoU with Al-Ghazali University (AGU) to Provide Interest-Free Loan facity to the Deserving Students of AGU

On November 20, 2024, Ihsan Trust (IT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al-Ghazali University (AGU) for the first time. AGU is one of the newest University in Karachi, a dynamic institution inspired by the legacy of Imam Al Ghazali, aiming to merge traditional Islamic scholarship with modern education. It offers a diverse array of programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as Islamic Studies, Finance, and Computer Science. The university emphasizes intellectual growth, spirituality, and societal impact, fostering an environment for comprehensive learning.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Conference Hall of AGU. The MoU was signed by Mr. Fayyaz-Ur-Rehman Khan – General Manager of Ihsan Trust, and Mufti Ehsan Waquar – Vice Chancellor of AGU. This initiative aims to provide financial relief to deserving students at AGU, enabling them to pursue their education without the burden of traditional loans, ensuring uninterrupted academic progress and success.

A presentation session was also held in the Auditorium of AGU for the students, faculty and Mangement of AGU about Ihsan Trust and Islamic Banking.

The presentation session began with a recitation from the Holy Quran (Tilawat). Following the introduction, Mr. Fayyaz Ur Rehman Khan GM – IT informed the audience about Ihsan Trust, its history and how IT is changing lives and working towards Human Capital Development in the country. Then, Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui – Director of the IBA Center for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA CEIF), SEVP and Head of Shariah Compliance at Meezan Bank Limited, engaged the audience in a thought-provoking session on Islamic Banking & Finance. Then, Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed – Chancellor of Al-Ghazali University, delivered an awareness talk, elaborating on the IT’s vision and its alignment with Al Ghazali University’s mission.

The presentation and MOU signing ceremony were attended by notable figures, including Mufti Abdul Raheem DB – Chancellor AGU, Mufti Ehsan Waquar – Vice Chancellor AGU, and Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed – Pro Chancellor AGU, Mr. Kamran Qaiser – Dy Registrar AGU, Mr. Atif Mehmood Khan – R&D Manager AGU alongside Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui – Islamic Finance Expert, Mr. Fayyaz ur Rehman Khan –GM IT nd Ms. Samina Akseer – Manager Marketing IT.

Together, they celebrated the collaboration marked by the signing of the MoU, which aims to bolster educational and financial support for students of AGU through Ihsan Trust. Ihsan Trust is expanding and working with more universities to offer its Interest-Free Loan facility, helping to promote a need-blind culture in Pakistan’s higher education system.
